Back To Juneau

After we left Fords Terror, we spent the night at Hobart Bay.  We wouldn't have had enough time to make it back to Juneau that day, and that was the best anchorage nearby.  After spending the night there, we went back up Stephens Passage to the canal that connects to Juneau.   We had originally planned to stay on Carolina for the next week, and visit Glacier Bay at the end of our trip, but John needed to visit the doctor for his back, and we didn't mind getting off of the boat for a few days.  John can't get a permit to go into Glacier Bay during the high season (summer), so we couldn't go with him.  We took the one day tour from Glacier Bay Tours.  If you are in this area of Alaska and don't see Glacier Bay, you have really missed something worthwhile.

We docked for the night at downtown Juneau where all of the cruise ships dock, so we got to visit the little tourist shops that cater to the cruise ship passengers.  After staying on the Carolina that night, John drove us to the airport at Juneau the next morning where we took a short flight to Gustavus.
