Taku Inlet

We wanted to make it to Tracy Arm the first day, but the tide was against us, so we couldn't.  We ended up going to Taku inlet, and staying there for the night.  We came in very late (~11:30) that night.  This was my first introduction to Alaska in the summer.  I doesn't get very dark there at all during the summer.  We were there from June 13 -> June 27.  There was still plenty of light until 10:00 or so in the evening, and  it started to get light again around 4:00 in the morning.  It never gets completely dark, just kind of like twilight around 2->3 am.

This was an inlet where there was an old fish cannery, and some other ruins.  There was also a fishing scow there for fishing boats to come and drop off their catch so they wouldn't have to go all the way into port.  This inlet had a dock to tie up to, with a pier to the shore.  We had a chance to go for a walk in the woods the next morning before we left.

We then headed for Hobart bay in Tracy Arm.  While traveling in Stephens Passage on this day, the weather cleared, and we could see some of the scenery.
