Tracy Arm
Tracy Arm is a very fjord-like passage with steep cliffs and very beautiful scenery. During the trip down Tracy Arm, we passed several small icebergs. The Alaskans call them bergies. The weather was not so good today. There was mostly a light rain, and it was foggy. When we got to the end of Tracy Arm, John took Carolina as far as he could and then dropped off Sharon and I in the skiff to go to the face of the glacier. When we got there, we were sharing the space with a small cruise ship. I tried to keep my distance from him, but he didn't seem to like us being there. I always stayed at least fifty yards away, but he still seemed to always keep edging away from me. There were several types of birds at the face of the glacier, and while we were there, it calved a few times. This made a very loud crack and an explosive sound when the ice broke off and fell in.

After we stayed at the glacier for about 30 minutes, we worked our way back to Carolina, and then went back to Hobart bay to anchor for the evening. We didn't have enough time to go anywhere else for the day.
The next day, we went down Endicott Arm to Ford's Terror.
