Yikes what a nightmare. (And I wasn't even there)
The first day at my new job was on Monday Jan-5. This was the same day the movers showed up. Sharon was stuck dealing with the unloading.
The movers got there late. They were supposed to arrive between 8:00 am and 10:00 am. They showed up at 11:00. Because they got there late, they didn't get done on time. Now the street we live on is not the best neighborhood. While there are some questionable folks that live there, most people are pretty OK. While the movers were there someone hit their truck with a car, and there was some yelling that went on. This scared the movers. I couldn't understand this. They are pretty big guys, and I would be intimidated by any of them. We still live on this street. We go there after dark. I haven't really been scared yet. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't go around after dark with twenty dollar bills taped to my shirt, but it's not really that bad. Anyway they got scared, and didn't want to be there after dark, so they left. They didn't tell Sharon that they were leaving, close the doors, or make arrangements for finishing up. They just left. To get the rest of our stuff, we had to arrange another delivery with the hauler. This cost us an extra $272.68. The guy that I talked to agreed with me that I shouldn't have to pay extra, but he had to pay the drivers... if it was up to him.... You get the picture. It was no ones fault, but I had to write another check.
There were lots of damages. See the list.
